Implementation & Customization
How Implementation Works
Learn about how implementation works when getting started with Supplios.
Implementation Overview
Supplios follows a structured implementation process designed to ensure fast time-to-value and a successful roll-out.
The exact timeline for the implementation process will depend on the complexity of your use-case, the number of modules being implemented, and the level of customization required. But at least some of the functionality of the platform will be availabe within the first week of getting started.
Implementing Supplios is far faster than implementing software such as ERP or PLM systems, and the overall timeline is typically measured in weeks, not months or years.
Implementation Steps
The implementation process typically involves the following steps:
- Kickoff: We start with a kickoff meeting to introduce the teams, review the implementation process, and set expectations. We also conduct a discovery process to understand your current processes, pain points, and goals for using Supplios, as well as where your supplier data resides.
- SRM & Platform Setup: We configure the platform based on your specific needs & use-case. This includes setting up your supplier database, any custom fields and/or tags, configuring workflows, and setting up user accounts.
- Data Import: We migrate your existing supplier data into the platform. This typically involves working with your team to extract data from your existing systems (spreadsheets, ERP, PLM, etc.), cleaning and formatting the data as needed, and then importing it into Supplios.
- Go-Live with Standard Modules: Some modules are designed to be used with minimal configuration, and we can get you up and running with those modules very quickly. They will be ready to use as soon as your supplier data is imported and your users are set up, which can often be done within the first week of the implementation process.
- Implementation of Custom Workflows: For modules that require custom implementation, we work with your team to configure the workflow based on the data requirements, process steps, and approval gates needed to match your specific processes. We also set up any necessary integrations with your existing systems, if needed.
- Testing, Training & Launch: We work with your team to test the platform and ensure that it is configured correctly. We also provide training to your internal users and suppliers to ensure that everyone is comfortable using the platform.
- Post-Launch Support: After the platform is live, we provide ongoing support to address any issues, optimize workflows, and ensure that you continue to get value from Supplios. This includes daily support for your internal users and suppliers, as well as regular check-ins to review your usage and identify opportunities for improvement.
How Supplios Ensures Implementation Success
Supplios is committed to ensuring a successful implementation for every customer. And as we do not charge high fees for implementation, we are highly motivated to get you up and running quickly, as well as to ensure that you maintain long-term success with the platform. This alignment of incentives is a key part of our approach to implementation.
Supplios ensures implementation success through a combination of factors:
- Assigned implementation lead who serves as your main point of contact throughout the process
- A supporting implementation team with "boots on the ground" experience in manufacturing as well as software implementation
- A structured implementation process with clear steps and timelines
- Many templates, worksheets, and best practices to guide you through the process
- Templates and best practices for communicating with suppliers about the new platform and process changes
- Clear escalation paths and support channels to address any issues that arise during implementation
Implementation Requirements from Your Team
To ensure a successful implementation, we ask for the following from your team:
- A dedicated "working-level" point of contact to work with our implementation team throughout the process, across all relevant departments (procurement, quality, compliance, supply chain, etc.)
- Understanding of executive sponsors and decision-makers for the implementation, as well as their goals and priorities for the platform
- Time allocated for ~weekly check-ins during the implementation process, as well as time for testing and training
- Access to documentation on your existing supplier-related processes, as well as access to the relevant stakeholders who can provide information and feedback on those processes
- IT contacts available to assist with any necessary integrations or technical questions that arise during the implementation process, if in scope
