Supplios vs. ERP
Learn how Supplios works with your ERP.
Supplios vs. ERP
Supplios is designed to work alongside your existing ERP system, not replace it. While there may be some overlap in functionality between Supplios and your ERP, they serve different purposes and are intended to complement each other.
ERP systems are designed to be rearwards-looking systems of record that capture and store data on transactions that have already occurred. They are often complex, rigid, and difficult to change, and are not designed to be used by suppliers or to manage supplier-related processes. The word "collaboration" is not typically used in the same sentence as "ERP".
Supplios, on the other hand, is a system of action designed to manage supplier-related processes and keep work on track. It tracks what was done, what is happening now, and what needs to happen next. It is built to be easy-to-use for both internal users and suppliers, and to bring structure, visibility, and accountability to supplier-related work. Supplios is designed to be flexible and configurable, so it can adapt to your specific processes and needs, and can evolve as your processes evolve.
Supplios and your ERP can be integrated to share data and keep information in sync. For example, you might have an integration that automatically creates a sourcing event in Supplios when a new part or BOM is created in your ERP (or PLM), or an integration that pushes part qualification data from Supplios into your ERP upon the successful approval of a supplier PPAP. The possibilities for integration are endless, and can be tailored to your specific needs and use cases.
Does my ERP have to be integrated with Supplios?
No, your ERP does not have to be integrated with Supplios for you to get value from the platform. Supplios can be used as a standalone system to manage supplier-related processes and keep work on track, even without any integrations. Almost all Supplios customers at least start this way.
However, integrating Supplios with your ERP can help to streamline data flow, reduce manual work, and ensure that information is consistent across systems. So for many workflows, integration between the two systems makes sense.
If/when the need arises, Supplios can be integrated with any ERP system. We have experience integrating with a variety of ERP systems, and we can work with your IT team to set up the necessary integrations to meet your specific needs and use cases.
Can Supplios integrate with my ERP system?
Likely, yes. Supplios is a modern, cloud-based platform with robust API capabilities, and it can be integrated with any ERP system that has API capabilities, or any other day of getting data in/out, even if it is a legacy system that only supports batch imports/exports.
We have experience integrating with a variety of ERP systems, sometimes in very creative ways. The limiting factor, if there is one, is never on the Supplios side.
